Alright everyone, I have a little surprise for you.
A long while back, I made this post. My family and I created 151 little clay beauties for a little project I had been cooking up in my mind.
When I still lived in Eugene, Orgeon, we visited a wonderful county faire. It was magical, set in a deep forest with hundreds of booths and many interesting people. I don’t remember all of it, I was barely six, but there was one stand where a man was giving away clay pendants. He gave me one, and I still have it today.
I often think about random acts of kindess. I find them fascinating - the thought of doing something nice for someone else with no expectations is wonderful. This is a rarity in our society today, but it can change a person’s day or even life - a smile, an earnest ‘thank you’, sweet notes to strangers or unexpected gifts. The part concerning the unexpected gifts is what I strive to do with the Clay Beauties.
This year at Castlefest, I will be handing out some of these pendants at random. To strangers, to people in wonderful costumes, to curious passers-by, to little children, to sad or smiling people, to artists, oddballs, to anyone who at that moment catches my eye and maybe to YOU.
If you spot me, approach me and I will give you one too.
Each one is unique and hand-made with love and good vibes. With this little project I want to restore some of the bewildering kindess and magic of our world. And after I get back, I will do a little give-away as well ;)
